in february of 2009, with a sketchpad under one arm and a newborn in the other, founder kelly linhares began her journey into the wonderful world of stationery. leaving a career in graphic design and retail marketing, kelly's love for color, design and paper made for a comfortable transition.

simple and sometimes quirky designs round out cow & the moon's selection of goodies, which are stylishly illustrated and exquisitely printed on luxurious paper that has been hand-woven by magical paper fairies under the sparkling moonlight. well, not really. but as soon as we find such a paper, we are so switching!

many have asked where the name came from. it began as kelly was preparing the nursery for her impending arrival. while painstakingly hand-painting the words to "hey diddle diddle" on her son's wall in a lavender hue called december dawn, she sat on her rocking chair to take a rest. taking a long sip of cool water and gazing proudly at her work, the words jumped out at her. it was literally written on the wall.
